What Are Belly Fat Diets?

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

The process of eliminating the unattractive and potentially dangerous fat deposit around the waist cannot be undertaken seriously without a satisfactory belly fat diet, because the procedure has to begin with a good diet, if it is going to work. You must have the right mental approach too, but it is not enough on its own.

You need to analyze your eating habits carefully, identify the good and bad foods that assist or hinder the weight loss process and eliminate the bad ones. There are many options of belly fat diets to be had online and most of them stress the importance of sticking to a low-calorie routine.

Everyone knows these days that wholemeal, unprocessed or brown grains, seeds, certain vegetables, fruits, lean meat and fish should be the main ingredients of any diet and it is the same for a belly fat diet too. Another useful approach to use against that stubborn layer of fat around the waist is the use of good fats or oils in your cooking and the best examples here are olive oil, soy and flax oil as well as monounsaturated fats from avocado pears and seeds. Nutrients like these control the appetite, meaning that they reduce the pangs of hunger by producing a feeling of satiety.

One advantage of a belly fat diet is that it creates excellent benefits for the whole digestive system, meaning that constipation and bloating will be eliminated, thereby allowing your body to purge itself of toxins. Toxins can also be flushed away more easily if you drink plenty of water, fruit juice and green tea for example.

Furthermore, a good night’s sleep of about eight hour’s sleep, coupled with moderate physical exercise will encourage the efficiency of any belly fat diet that you may choose.

Some of the belly fat diets provide suggestions for different breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks, so that the dieter does not have to count calories - a sort of pick-n-mix approach. But it is far better to obtain lists of foodstuffs with portion sizes and their calorie count, so that you have enough flexibility to take pleasure in a wider variety of food.

It is not important for this article, which approach you want to take: high fibre, low carbohydrate, high protein, vegetarian, or fruit only, it is always a good idea for you be conscious of what you are putting on your table, because this will allow you to make a better identification of what works and what does not work for the loss of belly fat in your own individual case.

The main goal of any belly fat diet is to burn more calories than you consume. If you do not achieve this, no positive results will appear even after all the dietary changes you have implemented.

Whether you choose to go for calorie control or you prefer to continue with a slightly adjusted form of your normal diet combined with more physical exercise, it is up to you, but you have to make certain that you steer clear of any dangers and excesses of any kind and try to take a mid-course approach to weight loss, so that you might enjoy your achievements in a healthy condition.

Your Good Health Depends On The Right Diet

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Someone has said the word diet is simply “die” with a “t”.

Correct eating does not have do be an unpleasant experience. Nutritious and healthy food can taste good and be very satisfying.

The amount of food that you can eat and lose weight is based on your BMI. Just do a quick search online to find a BMI calculator. Fill in a few blanks and submit for the results. The number that is returned is the number of calories you can eat each day and remain at your present weight. If you reduce that number by only ten percent, then you will begin to lose weight.

It is important that you not reduce your calories so severely that you body begins to think that there is a famine. This will cause your body to reduce the number of calories that it uses and begin to store every available ounce of fat possible. When you begin to eat normally again, your will gain back more weight than you lost during your diet. This is the reason that so many of the fad eating plans do not work.

The USDA has some tool that will help you to plan a balanced eating plan. One such tool is the food pyramid. It helps you to know those foods you should try to eat more often and those you should avoid most of the time. Remember that in moderation, you can have almost any food.

Some people enjoy the six meal eating plan. In this plan snacks are replaced by small meals and normal meals are smaller so that overall, the calorie count remains the same. The advantage of this plan is that blood sugars are regulated and the crash of a famished dieter does not have to be filled with binge eating.

Your BMI will change as you lose weight. After a significant weight loss, you may need to adjust your calories consumed.

Following the above will help you to achieve the diet results that you want.

Effective Diet Strategies - 2 Tips Work For Everyone

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

When you are ready to lose the weight for good, you have to find diet strategies that can be implemented into your daily life. This doesn’t have to be as complicated as it often seems.

Losing weight for good does require some lifestyle changes, but it can be done one step at a time. Presented here are just two simple ways to boost your weight loss efforts without wasting hours a day in the gym.

Timing: It’s time to stop thinking of carbs as something evil that must be avoided and simply put them in their place. Your body needs carbohydrates every single day because they are your primary source of energy. When you go through an intense workout or just walk up three flights of steps at work, you are depending on carbs to fuel that motion.

Once you know how your body uses carbs, you can use them to your advantage. Once you eat bread, pasta, or vegetables, your body has to either break them down for immediate energy or store them for later use. That means you either burn them off, or add to your fat cells. So, if you eat a cheeseburger and fries and then sit at your desk all day, you are going to store them since your body isn’t moving. Also, eat too many carbs and some will have to be stored no matter how active you are.

Therefore, it is a good idea to time your carbs so they are burnt up during the most active periods of your day. Maybe eating the bulk of them in the morning and then small amounts before workouts would work.

Water: You have probably heard that drinking water helps with weight loss, but there is more to the story. Did you know that most people who completely give up soda will lose 30 pounds or more in a single year?

These drinks keep you fat because they dry out your mouth, making you feel even more thirstier rather than satisfied. They keep you fat by making you crave more and more.

If you can learn to drink water in an effective manner and cut out these high calorie drinks, your weight loss will speed up.

Water will actually quench your thirst without drying out your mouth like sodas and juice tend to do. Also, you can use it as a natural, calorie-free appetite suppressant.

To feel less hunger and eat less at a big meal, drink a glass of water about 15 minutes before you eat. It gives a sense of satiety so you eat less.

Drink water in between meals and you will eat less over the course of the day without ever feeling hungry!

Timing your carbs and drinking more water may seem rather simple, but often it is the simple things that pay off the most with weight loss. One small change leads directly into another and before you know it, you’ve changed your entire lifestyle.

Diet- An Effective Fat Burning Method

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

This small word is the key to good health. Some are under this misconception that dieting means fasting. Whereas there are others who are sure that dieting will keep them in the pink of health. There are a variety of diet plans in the market.

There are many diet plans out in the market for you to choose from. But how do you know which diet plan would work for you? The problem with us is that we think of diet as a key for a random weight loss. If you think a certain diet plan would help you lose 20 pounds in 5 days, you also have to keep this in mind that you can gain the same amount in 10 days.

Some people strongly believe that skipping meals is what dieting is. This is a false notion. The body needs energy to remain active. The minute you stop eating your metabolism becomes slow and you burn few calories.

This is exactly where everybody gets confused about diet plans and weight loss. Personally, I think no diet plan would work if there is no physical exercise of your body. It is also advisable not to believe in random weight loss programs and opt for a Natural Diet

In this way the men and women are confused on this issue. I have a feeling that unless diet is combined with exercise it is fruitless. Some are lured to embark on a quick weight loss program that does more harm than good.

So how do you watch what you eat to maintain your balanced diet plan? This is where your conscience and honesty comes into picture. Remember that if you cheat, you are cheating to your body and not anybody else.

You should eat a balanced diet and not skip any meals. Fiber should be a part of your diet so should be fruits and vegetables. Oily and greasy food should be a big no-no. Diet combined with exercise is the best. You can start from walking., swimming ,other cardiovascular exercises.

Exercise will send a signal to your system that the food has to be broken down and burnt in to calories. Diet without exercise is incomplete. They have to be in coalition . It is only then that you will achieve your goal.

You have to keep a vigil on what you are eating so that your balanced diet plan comes in to effect. You have to be your own judge. This is where your sincerity and honesty will be tested. You must be true to your own conscience.

If you falter then it will become evident from your body. If you cheat then you will be cheating your body and nobody else. Be true to yourself. This is for your benefit. Obesity brings with it many diseases. It is for your secure future that you should take this step.

To conclude, any diet plan would help you lose weight and stay fit if you have faith. After all slow and steady wins the race!!

Health is wealth

Friday, December 18th, 2009

A healthy person enjoys life to the fullest. A sick person on the other hand is deprived of all life’s glamor in spite of being rich. Health insurances can assure you that all your health problems will be sorted out in a jiffy. Yet you will have to play a pivotal role in keeping yourself healthy.

In a family, it is the woman who plays the role of a doctor. She willingly looks after her children and spouse. She shields them from diseases. Unfortunately her health is neglected in the bargain. She has no fitness routine. Her diet is not a balanced one.

Why do women neglect her health?

Women are absorbed in their household work so deeply that they have no leisure to pursue a fitness routine. It is not that they are leading sedentary lifestyles. They are engaged in physical labor like doing all the house chores but it is not enough to ensure a disease free life.

Many women have a thick layer of fat around their waist. They think its either because its hard to slim down around the waist after having a baby or the most common one- eating too much. Frankly speaking its because of lack of exercise.

The fat deposition around their waistline is attributed to pregnancy and over eating. The real reason is their indifference to exercise. Imbibing a 30 minute walk in their fitness routine can be of immense help.

Some women believe that a home remedy is the best treatment for them when they are sick and an appointment with the doctor is unnecessary. It has happened that they have had to regret their decision.

Skipping meals is a common practice among most of the women. At times they don’t get the time to plan their diet properly but most of the times women feel that it will lead to weight loss. Unfortunately what they don’t realize is that both over eating and skipping meals can lead to severe malnutrition.

Walk for 30 minutes a day at least 5 times in a week. Morning walks are considered the best walks, as your metabolism gets a good start and is active throughout the day.

Here are a few things that should be followed:

Cut down on in between snacking and the nibbling while cooking. Get your work done as soon as possible and get out of the kitchen to avoid these temptations.

The false notion that skipping meals can bring about weight loss has to be forfeited. It only adds to the problem. The body stores fat as the metabolism becomes sluggish.

A natural diet rich in grains, rice, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, taken in the right proportion promotes weight loss. The changes are permanent, unlike the artificial diets. By taking protein drinks and using slimming products you can achieve quick weight loss but, as soon as you revert back to your normal diet the changes disappear and you are back to your obese self.

Perseverance and a little of your time will give you a healthy life. Health is your wealth. The sooner you realize it, the better it is for your health!

Why I Run Daily

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Even though I have to push myself to do it, I place a huge emphasis on running on a regular basis. It’s so easy to just sit back and relax at home instead, but I really do whatever it takes to make sure that I run.

Even though it’s a nuisance sometimes, the one that that I’ve realized is that I’m always glad that I ran once the run is over. I think this says a lot.

I always feel great once I’m done with any and all runs, and I’ve come to realize that the state of the body has nothing to do with an unwillingness to run. It’s all a psychological thing that just requires discipline.

Running is great for both the body and mind. Not only is it a great means of burning calories and keeping our weight down, but the process of running releases endorphins to the rest of the body, making you feel naturally happy after a run.

I think that running is also good for the brain. I’m always getting more accomplished at my job after a run, and I have an easier time falling asleep.

All of these obvious benefits make it well worth giving yourself the push to go running. Do whatever it takes to put yourself on a regular schedule and you’ll see the benefits pretty quickly.

One thing that I make sure to do is to have good, motivating music with me when I run. Doing this will make things more enjoyable, and I find myself paying more attention to the songs themselves than to the fact that I’m running.

Challenge yourself as often as possible too. Not only does this make it all physically rewarding, but the mental benefits are clear, as setting goals will stimulate the mind and make the whole experience more enjoyable. I’m always trying to set new records for myself.

How To Increase Your Endurance For Running

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

If you find running to be enjoyable, like myself, but find that your endurance needs some improvement, then this article is for you. Running is a great way to get out (and get around), but you certainly need to build up the proper endurance needed in order to run for any decent period of time.

When you first start running (or simply trying to increase your stamina), you should try running an extra 1/4 of a mile, when you are ready to finish your jog. Going this extra distance really helps with improving your over-all endurance level. Try this for just 2 weeks and you are very likely to notice a big difference.

You may want to also add on an extra day of running to your weekly runs. For example, if you run 3 times a week, try adding on just 1 more day, and run 4 times per week. This will increase your stamina for running, since the more often you do anything cardio-related, the quicker your endurance will increase.

Also, one of the more fun ways to work on building up your endurance is to get into an outdoor game or sport. The idea here is to play a game (or sport) that involves a LOT of constant running and moving around. One example would be the popular game of “airsoft”, which involves a great deal of running and shooting (hence the fun part). In airsoft, people run around and shoot each other with fully automatic airsoft machine guns, and even airsoft sniper rifles, both of which fire non-lethal plastic airsoft BBs. For an example of an airsoft gun, you can check out http://www.airsoftsniped.com. Airsoft is just one of the many ways that you can seriously increase your endurance, while having fun at the same time.

One more suggestion is to try interval training. This can be in the form of sprinting, running up hill, or even running downhill (this is actually a lot more work than most people realize, and will also work a different group of leg muscles). Most people do not see interval training as effective for building endurance, since it takes very little time (but requires a LOT of energy). Interval training definitely increases endurance though, and also increases your leg strength as well. This will indirectly increase your endurance for running.

This article was written by fitness guru, Raymond Almsharr. Raymond has been running and jogging for quite a few years now, and is constantly looking for new ways to increase his endurance level. With just a few good strategies for building endurance, you can easily improve your endurance level.

A Useful Running Strategy

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

I can remember the day very clearly, even though it was over a decade ago. I was in gym class, and we had just run a mile. I had a goal of seven minutes, and I had finally achieved it. I was thrilled, to say the least, and I was excited to continue to improve.

Fate dictated otherwise, and I ended up getting hurt during a lacrosse game the following week. I was unable to run for the rest of the year and I wasn’t happy about this. I never got back into running again.

Just last year, I got back into it all. I go to the gym, and decided to up my cardio routine, spending some time on the treadmill after each workout. I was happy to see that it didn’t take long before I ran my first mile in under seven minutes. Still, I wanted more and I was ready to do it in six.

This was much harder than I thought it would be. I tried relentlessly to beat the six minute mark but I couldn’t pull through. It was just too tiring and I’d run out of wind before I could finish.

Here are a few tips I’m going to give you that eventually helped me to get to where I was.

I decided to gradually work my way toward six miles, but I wanted it to feel easy in comparison to something else I was doing. I went with shorter runs at a faster pace to get to the level I needed to be at, running half miles in 150 seconds. This was a five minute mile pace, and running at a six minute pace was easy once I tried it out.

Believe me, it’s not much fun running two laps at such a fast pace. If you’re serious about breaking that six minute mark though, you’ll want to do this in order to get there.

From here, I have my goals set higher. I think I can run one in less than five.

Washington, DC Personal Fitness Trainer Reveals 7 Reasons NOT To Run

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Though many trainers affirm that running is good for health, personal fitness trainers at Washington DC come up with a different version. As a matter of fact they have come up with few reasons as to why running should not be given top priority. The seven reasons mentioned below establish this truth.

#1: Runners rarely look good.

You are losing weight, at least in part, because you want to look good. Have you ever noticed that endurance runners look awful? They may look dumpy or even fat. Others look ragged. In fact, you may look better if you strive to be a short distance runner as they often have lean muscles and tight abs. If you are in Washington, DC, personal fitness trainers will tell you this.

#2: Running has adverse effects on your hormones.

Hormones are generated while running. These hormones can damage muscles, make you sick and enhance the amount of fat storage in your body. By running, you will work against your hormones. To put it in simple words, if you want to lose weight, then quit running.

#3: Running can cause troubles to your muscles and decrease metabolic rate.

Your metabolism is at least partly determined by the amount of muscle mass you have. You want to have more muscle since it is able to burn through fat faster. If you have less muscle, your body needs fewer calories, which equates to gaining weight. Fast twitch muscles (one of two types) help you to run quickly and are the key to a great body and fast metabolism. Endurance training actually stimulates the slow twitch muscles, which do not increase your metabolism.

#4: Running deteriorates your athletic ability essential for other sports.

Endurance training lets you run at a slow pace for a longer duration. Generally in most sports, the aim is to go from one place to another faster than your opponent. These sports with small bursts of activity are known as interval workouts. Endurance training does not build up your fast twitch muscles, which results into you being a poor athlete beyond long distance running.

#5: Running is agonizing, your Washington DC personal fitness trainer knows.

In fact, as an overweight person, you can say that long distance running is the worst thing for your joints. Short distance running, such as sprints, do not hurt the knees, as many people often worry. In fact, those who want to run for a long time can count on having damage to their knees. Anything longer than 30 second sprints is too long for weight loss.

#6: Running is not the best thing you can do for weight loss.

A Washington DC personal fitness trainer can tell you that running has no value in terms of weight loss. Any aerobic workout similar to this kind of running is something you need to avoid if you are looking to lose weight.

#7: Running is monotonous.

Finally, one last thing to ask your Washington, DC personal fitness trainer is this. Have they had fun running? Running is boring and in fact may equate to you not doing the task because you are bored with it.
